Offline data collection with Collector is imminent, Jeff Shaner gave a second preview here, but there is also a change coming to the way dynamic GIS data can be viewed on a smartphone or tablet.
The March release of the Operations Dashboard will allow a single-display operation view to be created, shared and then accessed on a mobile device (iOS and Android). We’ve found the Dashboard to be a great way to create clear views of GIS data and this should neatly compliment the Collector app. Anyone in an organisation, with a suitable device and connection, will be able to access a focused and dynamic view of their spatial data. You can read more about it here. I think this combined mobile capability (update and monitor) will be particularly useful in situation management.
