mapstyler 2.0

We are pleased to announce the release of mapstyler 2.0!

mapstyler is an Esri UK app designed to make the vector tile editing experience simple, released earlier this year. You can access the latest version here: esriuk.com/mapstyler

Based on user feedback, and as part of our ongoing development process, we have made several enhancements which include:

• Completely redesigned UI
• Sample images
• Mobile device friendliness
• Ability to undo/redo changes
• Input hex values to create custom colour palettes
• Search function

To use mapstyler, simply drag and drop an image onto the map and the vector tiles will inherit the key colours. You can also cycle through sample images which come directly from Unsplash.

DRAG AND DROP YOUR IMAGE DIRECTLY ONTO THE MAP OR CYCLE THROUGH THE GALLERY OF UNSPLASH IMAGES

Hitting the shuffle button will reorder the palette, meaning 25 styles can be generated from a single image.

It is also possible to change individual colours using the picker and then apply the changes to the basemap.

YOU CAN TWEAK THE PALETTE BY CLICKING ON A COLOUR AND USING THE PICKER/ENTER A HEX VALUE

When you have created your masterpiece, remember to click the Save button which will create a new item in your ArcGIS Online account. This can then be used across all of your maps and apps in ArcGIS Online, Desktop and mobile.
